Circulatory system

The major parts of the circulatory system are the heart, the arteries, the capillaries, and the veins. The heart forces the blood around the body by pumping. The heart is really a muscle. The heart is located a little to the left of your chest. Your heart is about the size of your fist.

The veins carry the blood back to the heart. The arteries are tough on the outside and smooth on the inside. The arteries have three layers: an outer layer of tissue, a muscular middle, and an inner layer of epithelial cells. Your kidneys are bean-shaped origins, each about the size of your fist. They are located near the middle of your back, just below your rib cage.

An interesting fact that I have learned is that the circulatory system keeps you alive. I enjoyed learning about the circulatory system.
