Scholars: A smart person who went to college-(possibly) and is well educated.

What was the Gupta Empire? GM
The Gupta Empire was the second of India's large empires. During this empire many major advancements in science and mathematics happened. Literature also grew. The leaders of this empire were Hindus and made Hinduism very popular. These leaders also improved trade routes and made gold and silver mines to become wealthy. This was a very prosperous time for India.
Prosperous: Very wealthy and strong.
Route: A type of road.
Literature: Reading and writing.
Advancements: Things that make a society more advanced.
