Monsoons are very important to the Indian climate. In the winter the monsoon carries in cold, dry air from the mountains. In the summer the monsoon carries warm, wet air from the Arabian Sea, which produces drenching rains. Once the rain from the monsoon comes many farmers celebrate. If the rain comes on time and the rainy period d of time goes on long enough, the crop will turn out good. If the rainy season is delayed a drought will occur.
MONSOON: a strong windy that blows one direction in the winter and the other direction in the summer.
ARABIAN SEA: located in the Indian Ocean and is southwest of the Deccan Plateau in India.
DROUGHT: dry weather, lack of rain
DRENCHING: to wet thoroughly

What are the important rivers in India?MLH
The Ganges and Indus River are very important to India's cities near these rivers. When the rivers overflow the water makes the soil rich and fertile for farmers to grow healthy crops and lots of them. The rivers are very fertile and are fed by the mountains in the north. When the snow in the Himalayas melts, water flows into the Ganges River and the Indus River,the very important rivers in
India. The Ganges River runs south of the Himalayas and flows into the India ocean, the area around Ganges River is called the Ganges River Valley. The Indus River empties into the Arabian Sea, the area around the Indus River is called the Indus River Valley. These two rivers were very important to India and are still today!
Four Terms:
SUBCONTIENT: large landmass that is part of a continent but is separated from the continent in some way.
MONSOONS: strong winds that blow thet blows one direction in the winter and the opposite direction in the summer.
HIMALAYA: huge mountains that make a barrier between India and the rest of Asia, these mountains are the highest mountains in the world.
CLIMATE: the weather averaged over a long period of time.

MOHENJO-DARO: a major city in the Indus River valley.
