In all places of the world, there is some form of government ranging from anarchy to totalitarianism to monarchy. The government we chose was a new form of democracy called double democracy. It is where there are two presidents. This way, they both have to agree on something to pass it on to the utopia. The only way to run for president is to be nominated. Then if you want, you can vote on two people. You don’t have to vote, it is just recommended so that the best choice is made. After 1 year of being presidents, they can run again until they have had 10 years in office. If the people don’t like a president, they can start a vote and if over half of the citizens vote them out, they aren’t president anymore. If a person gets voted out, they can’t run again even if they completely change. I chose to make the form democracy because that way, the people get the leaders that they want. This way, a method life is chosen by the people and upheld by the presidents. It fits into my goal of creating a utopia because it is, as I believe, as close to a perfect government as any nation or group of people have ever had before double democracy was created.

In a perfect place like Faland, there needs to be some laws. The reason laws were created was so people could be safe and free. For example, like in the U.S., it is illegal to murder. However, it is also illegal to kill yourself on the island of Faland. If you want to die, take it to another country. The constitution is changeable only in agreement with both presidents, the government and much of Faland. Rulers become rulers by vote following their nomination. Some laws are: No stealing and absolutely no illegal drugs, just like in the U.S. Also you can’t go into debt because there is no loaning banks on Faland. This way, you actually have to have the money before buying something. You especially can’t leave Faland with its own food, unless you grow it yourself. It is because food from Faland isn’t good around other atmospheres like Australia or Canada. It will rot and become poisonous and the people that eat it will blame Faland. Then people will stop visiting and Faland will no longer be a utopia. The last important law is no assault, ever. Laws are enforced by the people and the government. Violators are dealt with in courts, again like the U.S. The punishments can range from community service to being sent to jail in another country. The jail punishments are very rare though. They only occur after multiple assaults or many thefts. The most common punishment for theft is working off what you stole until you have payed double for it. There is a military in Faland. It is only used in worst case scenarios. You are not required to serve, it is just a job with a very good paycheck. This is just a part of what makes Faland such a wonderful place.
