- Ancestors had the power to bring good fortune to people or to destroy them
- Shang-Di was the main god but there were many lesser gods
- Kings consulted gods with oracle bones, which were animal bones and tortoise shells
Shang Technology and Artistry:
- Artists were a separate social class
- They lived outside the city walls
- They created weapons, jewelry, and other religious items
- Made bronze stuff and also made silk stuff
