You know what magma is ... and lava? You may think there is no difference but there is! Magma is the stuff that erupts, but when released from the volcano is officially Lava. The lava eventually hardens to rock lava coming out of a volcano of speeds of 2/3 and 1/3 Mph. there is four types of lava. Sometimes ash comes out of volcanoes with lava. Both effects surrounding envoirment to dissolve gasses in magma determines whether the eruption is explosive or non-explosive. The silica content in the lava or magma determines its viscosity. Viscosity is the ability of the flow of the magma or lava. All in all lava and magma is a very interesting subject and maybe should be studied more. –Maddie k <3333
