Composite Volcanoes

Composite Volcanoes are built up over time from numerous eruptions. A volcano starts out by the subduction of two tectonic plates. A crack forms between the two plates releasing lava to flow upwards and cool. The lava will cool. It will repeat these steps several times, building up. Once it is a cone shape, it forms more gasses and its lava has low Silica. A large amount of thicker lava clogs the opening of the volcano. The gasses can build up and explode.
