Strato Volcanoes

Strato volcanoes are caused when the oceanic and continental plates collide. Then because the oceanic plate is denser, it sinks. Once in the mantle it bends. Then oceanic plate melts from the intense heat, therefore making the magma have high viscosity. The magma seeps through the cracks. As it comes up the magma builds up the structure. Because the magma is so thick, it moves up the volcano slowly. At times the magma dries, sealing the top. Pressure builds up because the top is clogged. And then the top blows off.
