Eruption begins when magma, the molten from deep inside the earth’s crust rises. Dissolved gases in the magma decide whether it will be explosive or non-explosive. Low amounts of gases lead to non- explosive eruption, higher amounts of gases lead to explosive eruptions. Anyone who has shaken a soda bottle and then opened it has seen similar phenomenon the dissolved gases come out of solution and the liquid erupts. Sometimes volcanoes erupt explosively pouring out hot ash, gas, and chunks of rocks. Other eruptions lava oozes the volcanoes vent. Opening and flows down its side. The height of an eruption can be measured directly in observed eruptions. During the eruption volcano flowing lava and ash forming a large cone. This cone is called a volcano.
