Krakatoa
The volcano the shook the Earth

August 26, 1883 the volcano of Krakatoa ended the Dutch town of Java. At 1:00 the noises started. These noises were different than the ones of the previous weeks though, louder and less subtle. Not many would’ve figured Krakatoa to be the source of these noises for it had been dormant more than 200 years. Then during that day ash covered the sky and blocked the sun making it incredibly hard to see and really cold. The volcano also caused small tsunamis destroying boats. All communications were lost by 6:00. All the next night sailors had to dodge hot ash falling from the sky. Then at 10:00am all ended for Java... Krakatoa exploded. The noise was so loud it was one of the highest decibel measures recorded. You could hear from 2,000 miles away.
