Hydropower is a clean and great way to create electric. Over 7 percent of America use Hydropower. It has no waste or pollution and is almost free. Grand Coulee Dam is one of the largest dams. The dams must be located at a water source to work. There is a current way the dam works. The water falls thought a pipe that turns a propeller to create electric. The amount of pressure the water gives will create more electric. The steeper the dam is the more pressure the water will produce. Dams have had a big history.

The first propeller used by water was used to grind grain.
Most cities back up water so that when cities that need electricity they can just need to open the gates. Dams are very important because they produce enormous amounts of energy, but there are some faults. One bad thing is that it changes natural habitats. It can also hurt salmon swimming up stream to have babies. They can’t because of the dams.
