| The sun’s rays that reach the earth is solar energy. Solar energy is very useful for us to use, especially for heating things. Solar energy can be used for heating water, swimming pools, and also space heating, such as buildings. Space heating can be known as passive and active. Active heating systems use a collector to absorb and collect solar radiation. Pumps and fans are used to circulate the heating air. Passive space heating is what happens to a car on a hot summer day. In buildings, the air is circulated past a solar heat surface and through the building by convection(less dense warm air tends to rise while more dense cooler air moves down). Active and passive space heating are only some of the things about solar energy.
