| Step 1:  Candidates  Announce. It's when people announce that they are going to run for president. Step 2: Primary Process. There are two main types primaries, closed and open, that determines who is eligible to vote in the primaries.
 Step 3: National Convention. each party holds a national convention. During this time they must pick a running mate.
 Step 4: Big Campaign. During the campaign the candidates give speeches,debates,and fundraisers.
 Step 5: Election Day. the presidential election is on the first tuesday after the first monday in November.
 Step 6: Electoral College. Consists of 538 popularity elected representatives who  formally select the president of the U.S.
 Step 7: The Inauguration. It is the day where the president is sworn and takes  office.
