Vocab Words
System of equations- a set of equations with the variable
Ordered pair- the solution to a system of equations
Consistent System- a system of equations that has at least one ordered pair that satisfies both equations
Inconsistent system- a system of equations with no solution
Dependant system- a system of equations with an infinite number of solutions
Check solution- substitute the values
Algebra Summary
I learned a whole lot during this project. One thing was the different types of systems, consistent, inconsistent, and dependent. I hadn’t even known they existed until now! I learned how to tell them apart from each other. Consistent graphs have lines that intersect at one point. Inconsistent graphs are parallel lines, so they don’t intersect anywhere. Dependant graphs are shown as only one line, because both equations are the same.
Technology Summary
The technology for the project was amazing! I liked how the TrackStar website groups all of the other sites we needed together. It was also cool that the lesson teacher read the lessons to you on the solving equations by graphing site, but my favorite site would have to be this one. I’ve never made a website before because I don’t have a Myspace (if you consider that a website), so it’s fun being able to be a “webmaster” as Mrs. Mortensen calls it!
