Geometry Vocabulary Project

1. Transversal - a line that crosses two or more lines.

2. Angle - An angle is the set of points when two rays both start at the same point.

3. Parallel – Two lines are parallel if they never intersect.

4. Perpendicular – Two lines are perpendicular if they intersect in a 90 degree angle.

5. Adjacent angle – Adjacent means that two things are next to each other.

6. Alternate exterior angle – When a pair of parallel lines is intersected by a transversal.

7. Alternate interior angle – When a pair of parallel lines is intersected by a transversal

8. Vertical angle – Pair of angles directly opposite of each other, formed by the intersection of straight lines.

9. Acute angle – One whose measure is less than 90 degrees.

10. Obtuse angle – an angle whose measure is greater than 90 degrees.

11. Right angle – an angle whose measure is 90 degrees.
