Geometry Vocabulary!

1. Transversal- a line that intersects two other lines.
2. Angle- The shape formed by two line segments that extend from a given point.
3. Parallel- Two lines are said to be parallel if they do not meet.
4. Perpendicular- Two lines are perpendicular if they meet in a 90 degree right angle.
5. Adjacent angle- angles that is right next to each other.
6. Alternate exterior angle- angles that are outside of the parallel lines, and are diagonal from each other and are transversal.
7. Alternate interior angle- angles that are inside of the parallel lines, and are diagonal from each other and are transversal.
8. Vertical angle- pair of angles that are opposite from each other, where two lines cross.
9. Acute angle- an angle that is less than 90 degrees.
10. Obtuse angle- an angle that is between 90 and 180 degrees.
11. Right angle- an angle that is 90 degrees.
