Geometry Vocabulary

1. transversal- a line that intersects two other lines.
2. angle-the amount of turning between two lines meeting.
3. parallel-lines that are the equal distance apart.
4. perpendicular-right angles to the given point.
5. adjacent angle-angles that are right next to each other.
6. alternate exterior angle-transversal angles on a line.
7. alternate interior angle-transversal angles turned inward.
8. vertical angle-pair of angles opposite from each other.
9. acute angle-an angle less than 90 degrees.
10. obtuse angle-angle between 90 and 180 degrees
11. right angle-and angle that’s 90 degrees
