Rebel Hart
The book Rebel Hart is by Edith Morris Hemingway and it is an historical fiction book that is based on a true part of the Civil War.
Mostly there was just one main character and her name was Nancy Hart. She had been in the Civil War and now was a grandma. She is remembering her past adventures when she fought with the Moccasin Rangers in the Civil War. Josh and Luke were two of Nancy’s friends who were Confederates like her. Mostly the setting was when Nancy was at battle.
Rebel Hart is about Nancy Hart who is a 14 year old girl fighting for the Confederates at the time of the Civil War. She runs away from her family who lived on a farm and went to join the Confederate Forces. In particular, she joined the Moccasin Rangers. The book is mixed with the Civil War and folktales.
The author is trying to say keep believing in what you fight for and stay loyal to what you’re fighting for. At sometimes the story would intrigue you and sometimes people had to have a lot of courage to do some things. I learned that sometimes you have to go with what you think is right and not what everyone tells you.
I thought that the book got more exciting as you moved closer to the end. The beginning of the book does not have much action as the middle and end. The book is very hard to understand in the beginning but eventually the book gets into intense action and more easy to understand why people do things. During the middle of the book, you were able to know what would happen next. It was able to make you know how hard some things were in the Civil War.
I would recommend Rebel Hart to anyone who can understand how harsh things were and if they like intense action. |
