Bunnicula
The book, Bunnicula, by Deborah and James Howe is a tale of mystery. There is something unusual about their pet rabbit.
The story takes place in the Monroe’s house. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe live there with their sons Toby and Pete. Pete is an 11 year old boy and Toby is a 6 year old boy. Harold is the family dog and Chester is the family cat. The unusual thing about this book is the animals are the main characters telling the story. Chester the cat is the smart one because he reads books all the time. Harold is a clever dog and he is Chester’s best friend.
The Monroe’s went to go see a movie and Mr. Monroe was about to sit when he saw a rabbit. When they took the rabbit home there was something strange about it. They ended up keeping the rabbit and they named it Bunnicula. Every night something strange happened in the kitchen. One morning when they were in the kitchen they saw that the vegetables were white. This is where they got the idea of Bunnicula being a vampire.
The author is trying to say don’t judge the book by its cover, or a bunny by its eating habits. This is the theme of the book. I think

the book is a very good mystery book. I like that some things that happened in the books were creepy and funny too. It was hard to believe that the rabbit, Bunnicula was a vampire because no rabbits are vampires. It was unpredictable because the rabbit acted like a vampire. Was he?
I would recommend this book to a person who likes mystery books and who likes creepy books. I would recommend it to a person because if they like mysteries, they would love reading it. I know I did!
