Tornado Damage
Description: Tornado Damage

On June 11th, 2008 our elementary school was hit by an F4 tornado. It lifted the roof off of our portable and set it back down in exactly the right place! It sucked the name plates off of our teachers' doors. The tornado sucked the walls in on our library but believe it or not, it did not damage very many books. Trees were uprooted and broken in two. No one was hurt in our school because it hit in the evening when no one was in school. After the tornado hit our school it hit the Kansas State University campus and did millions of dollars in damage. It then completely destroyed several businesses as it left our town. No one in our town was killed in the tornado. It was a miracle. People came from all over to help fix our school. Our school is completely fixed now but it was a scary event. Thankfully, people paid attention to the meterologists' warnings and took cover in basements when the tornado hit.
