In the spring in Kansas, it is important to pay attention to the weather. Tornadoes can come very fast and with very little warning. Get a weather radio that sounds an alarm when severe weather is coming. You can also watch T.V. or if you live in a town, you can listen for the sirens. Be sure you and your family have a plan if any alarms sound. You should have a small room with no windows or a basement to go to. Get on your knees and duck your head down with your hands over your head, facing a wall. DON'T come out until the sirens stop. Lots of people want to see a real tornado but they are dangerous and it is best to take cover.
