Brady is remembered for documenting the Civil War through photographs. (1) At the age of 16 Brady, moved to New York city, New York. There he became a store clerk. Later, he started working at a manufacturing company making jewelry. (2) Soon Brady realized that he loved photography. So in 1844 he opened a studio in New York. (3) In 1849 Brady met Julliete Handy, in Washington D.C. Who he married in 1851. (4) Brady hired hundreds of men. These men helped document the Civil War. After the Civil War, Brady’s eyesight went very, very poor. (5) In 1896, Brady died at Presbyterian Hospital.
