The state we are researching is Massachusetts. The capital of Massachuetts is Boston. The population of Massachuetts is 6, 547,629. The date Massachusetts became a state was Febuary 6, 1788. The governor of Massusetts is Deval Patrick.


The state flag of Massachusetts is On a white field is a blue shield emblazoned with the image of a, Native Amerian, Massachusetts. He holds a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other. The arrow is pointing down, representing peace. The white star repersents Massachusetts as one of the original 13 states. Around the shield is a blue ribbion with the motto : \" By the Sword We Seek Peace, but Peace Only Under Liberty\". Above the shield is a arm and sword, representing the first part of the motto. The state flower of Massachusetts is the Mayflower. The state tree of Massachusetts is the American Elm. The state song of Massachusetts is All Hail to Massachusetts. The state brid of Massachusetts is the Black-Capped Chickadee.


Major sport teams that are located in Massachusatts are Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots,and New England Revoltion. Major Colleges in Massachusetts are Hadvard- University, Boston University, Brandeis University, Northeastern University, Boston College, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Massachusetts is blessed with thousands of miles of sea shore and river banks as well as many wet lands, lakes, and ponds.
