Q: How did most slaves when they escaped? How did they find their way?
A: Most slaves traveled in the night and in forests. They found their way by looking at moss growing on trees, and following the north star.
Q: What were some of the worst dangers and challenges that runaway slaves faced?
A: Being caught by patrollers and being beaten by their masters.
Q: How did runaways try to avoid getting caught? What happened if they were caught?
A: They went to safe-houses. If they were caught they would get beaten by their masters.
Q: What was the underground railroad? Who were the \"passengers\" and the \"conductors\"?
A: It was a path used by slaves to get to freedom. The conductors were the
leaders of the underground railroad, the passengers were the slaves.
