1. Why did some enslaved African Americans try to escape from there owners? Why was this such a dangerous act?
-run away slaves if caught would get whipped and possibly die.
2. How did most slaves travel when they escaped? How did they find their way?
-they would walk (at night) they would find their way by using the north star.
3. What were some of the worst dangers and challenges that runaway slaves faced?
-some of them were: dogs, slave catchers, going hungry, and coldness.
4. How did runaways try to avoid geting caught?
-runaways can avoid getting caught by staying in safe houses and only traveling at night.
5. What was the underground railroad? Who were the \"passengers\" and \"conductors\"?
-the passengers were runaway slaves. The conductors were people who did not believe in slavery.
6. How did the underground railroad be secretive
-secret codes, secret messages, and changing of the paths.
