Talc or as you could say Talcum is mined mostly in Southern France. We mine it by using open-pit surface mining. The luster of Talc is very silky. The color can be green, white, or colorless. The streak color is white.

Talc’s cleavage is perfect, it is very smooth. The hardness of Talc is one. The uses are or paint, paper, rubber, and of course Talcum powder. The chemical composition is basic magnesium silicate.

The crystalline structure is Monoclinic which is shaped like a diamond. Many people today, use Talc in many ways, make-up and electrical items. Plastics are used the most, and in a close second, ceramics. Talc is a very important mineral.
