Schist color can be green, gray, silver, brown, or blue depending on what types of schist it contains. Schist has high luster meaning it is shiny because of the large amount of crystals in them. Schist is mined in high water content of the minerals indicate that they were formed under conditions of relatively low temperature and pressure. It uses is in construction and decorative rock such as in gardens. Schist is generally hard. It is classified principally according to the minerals they consist of and or their chemical composition. The crystalline structure is foliated or plated. Its a metamorphic crystalline rock. It is made up of many layers and if this rock is struck it will break along a particular cleavage. The streak is a white powdery color, but often depends on what type of schist it is.
