The mineral Fluorite has a formula of CaF2. It has an Isometric system a Dull, Vitreous Luster. Fluorite has a hardness of 4 on the Mohs scale. Fluorite can be many differant colors it can be purple,lilac,golden-yellow,green,black,colourless,blue,pink,champagne or brown.It has a white streak a perfect cleavageand a sub-conchoidal or splintery fracture.

Fluorite has been nicknamed the most colorful mineral in the world because of it has a such big variety of colors. Purple is the most popular and famous color of Fluorite. Other very attractive colors of Fluorite are the rarer ones which are pink,reddish-brown and black.

Most varieties of Fluorite are one solid color but there are some that have two to five colors. Fluorite can be the colorless color of Fluorite on the outside and at the same time it can be the most famous color purple on the inside.
