Encounter
By Laci dockery

We both sat
Breathtakingly
Staring,

I in the forest
The wolf
Near
The old peach tree,

He
Ears rising
Staining
To hear

I holding breath
To say
I’m in fear

In the staring
Between us
I said
Go!

Did it pounce
Like a tiger?
It rose Elagantly
And fled.
