Colonel William Prescott

Colonel William Prescott led the patriots into war at Bunker Hill. Prescott was born 1726 and died in 1795. William Prescott is famous for his quote, “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes!” Colonel Prescott was chosen to lead 1,200 men onto the Charlestown peninsula. In 1785, he married Abigail Hale, and they had one child together. Even though the battle of Bunker Hill was called the battle of Bunker Hill, most of the fighting was done on Breed’s Hill. Colonel William Prescott is a hero to remember.
