Aluminum does not have any cleavage, and on mohs scale the hardness of aluminum is 2-31/2. That means it could get scratched by a penny. Aluminum has a silvery metallic streak. The formula is AI and, the feeling is soft but also smooth.

FUN FACTS: Aluminum is found in the crust of the Earth. It makes up the third most abundant element in the Earth’s crust, following oxygen and silicon and followed by iron. It makes up roughly 8% of the Earth’s crust, so this element is not very rare. Aluminum metal is so chemically reactive that native specimens are rare and limited to extreme reducing environments. Instead, it is found combined in over 270 different minerals.
