Copper is one of the most important minerals, and has been famous since ancient civilizations. It is a reddish brown color mineral with a metallic luster, and a copper red streak. Copper is usually found in Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. The uses of copper is plumbing inside houses buildings, jewelry, door knobs, coins, and sinks.

Coppers melting point is 1084.62 C. When copper is just about at its melting point its color turns pink when enough light shines on it.

Coppers hardness is from 2.5 to 3, so its a little hard to cut.
It also has no cleavage when split in half.
Coppers chemical composition is 29.

Fun facts!
*A standard car contains 42 pounds of copper while a hybrid car contains 75 pounds of copper.
*Copper is one of the few metals that can be found in its native form and therefore was one of the first metals used by ancient people.
