Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt and the moon. Her symbol includes the moon and a bow and arrow to represent both of the things she stands for.
The powerful god Zeus and his wife Hera are the parents of Artemis. She also has a twin brother Apollo who is the God of the sun. Her other siblings include Athena, Ares, Hephaestus, Dionysus, and Hermes.
Artemis is very protective of nature and animals so when King Agamemnon killed one of her stags she was furious. When Agamemnon and his soldiers went sailing to Troy for the Trojan War She calmed the sea and the wind so the ships were stuck. Artemis demanded the sacrifice of Agamemnon\'s daughter if he wanted the wind to be restored.
