Nyx is the Greek goddess of the night. She was born of chaos at the same time as Erebus, Gaia, and Tartarus. Nyx has 17 children with Erebus. Some, being like her, using darkness and despair, but few others ended up the exact opposite. One child in particular, Hemera (Goddess of day), still lives with Nyx. Though, they never are home at the same time. When one leaves, the other returns. This was the Greek\'s explanation for night and day. Nyx and Hemera live in Tartarus, which is located in the deepest pits of Hades. The symbol of Nyx is night, or darkness. Nyx is also a modern day cosmetics company, a print/online publication of critical theory, art and politics, and the final boss of the video game Persona 3.
