Mars is the Roman god of war. He is usually associated with two items. Those items are his spear and his shield. These represent him as a warrior and always ready and prepared for battle. Mars has plenty of connections to popular culture. One of which is the planet Mars being named after him. In the video game Rome II: Total War there is a direct reference because you can build a shrine to Mars, on the battlefield in game your soldiers sometimes yell, \"Sons of Mars\". Mars is the son of the King of Gods, Jupiter and his Queen, Juno. Mars is a sibling of the gods Vulcan and Juventia. He is the father of Eros, Anteros, phobos, Deimos, Harmonia, and Adrestia. There are many interesting facts about Mars. March is the month named after the god. Surprisingly, he is also regarded as an agricultural guardian.
