| During the summer of 1838, a group of Nochogdoches citizens discovered a plot of rebellion against new Rebublic of Texas. This was known as the Cordova Rebellion, at the beginning this was nothing than an insurrection by local malcontents. Then became know as anarchy which indicated the existence of a fareahing of conspiracy. Vicente Cordova and other leaders supported the revolution Asa long as it espoused a returned. Vicente Cordova, Nochogdoches officials during the Mexican period and leader of the Cordova Rebellion was born in 1798. The Cordova rebellion attempted to overthrow the new Texas republic and was able to stop with out bloodshed or wide arrest. | |
