Actinium glows in the dark with a pale blue light. Actinium was first discovered in 1899 by André-Louis Debierne, in Paris. Another scientist found out that Actinium was radioactive in 1902 three years after it was discovered. Actinium is number 89 on the periodic table. The melting point of this element is 1050°C, 1922°F, 1323 K and the boiling point is 3200°C, 5792°F, 3473 K .The atomic mass of this element is 277 u and the symbol of this element is Ac.The Electron configuration is [Rn] 6d17s2. Actinium is a powerful source of alpha rays, but is rarely used for anything other than research. Actinium is also found naturally in uranium ores.
