Californium (cal-uh-FOR-nee-um) is one of the newer elements of the periodic table.Californium\'s atomic number is 98 and it\'s chemical symbol is Cf. Californium\'s element category is actinoid. This element was man made in a lab at the University of California in 1950. This element is man-made so it was not found

Some physical properties of californium are that the melting point is 860C and the boiling point is 1,472C (estimated). Californium has a silvery-white color. By the color of the element,you can tell californium is a metal. Californium has a fairly active chemical property and it is not flammable. the\'re no important compounds for californium.

Some uses for californium are the oil well industry. also in the mining industry the use it to find ores,like silver and gold. And they use it for a neutron source. Californium is very harmful. Californium can be used in medicine too.
