Zinc is a member of the medal group, but it is a vital nutrient to plants and animals.Zinc is the 24th most common elements.Zinc is found in most mineral deposits.Zinc\'s atomis mass is 65.38 and its melting point is 787.3F (419.5C).Zinc is an element with the symbol Zn and the number 30.The chemical element of the atomic number 30.A silver white metal that is a constituent of brass and is used for coating(galvanizing) iron and steel to protect against corrosion.Zinc is the 24th most common element in the planets crust.Zinc is also found in earths seawater, at 30 parts per billion.

Zinc is usually found with other elements like copper.Almost all zinc (95%) is mined from sulfide ore deposits.Zinc compounds not very abundant.Zinc production is from nearly (70%) mining and (30%) recycling.Zinc was likely given its name by Paracelsus. It has been used by workmen and artisan for at least 1,000 B.C.Of all transition metals, it has the lowest melting point (787.2) after cadmium and mercury. Some of zincs physical properties are its a bluish- white, lustrous metal. It is ambient and brittle temperatures but it is malleable at 100 to 150 celsius. It is a reasonable conductor of electrisity.

Some chemical properties of zinc are standard potential -0.738 V, the isotopes is 10, zinc density is 7.11 g.cm- 3 at 20 celsius, the melting point is 420 celsius, also electronegativity according to Pauling is 1.6. Some more interesting facts are zinc sinks not floats because of the weight which is (65.38u + 0.002u).Also the atomic mass of zinc is 65.37 g.mol -7.
