Welcome to the Austin Peay Elementary Guidance Department! Dear Parents, I am excited to be at Austin Peay Elementary to serve you and your student(s) as your School Counselor. A good education includes not only academics, but also personal, social, and career development. Learning to get along with other children,to make good decisions, to control anger, to accept responsibility, and to be aware of strengths and weaknesses are skills our students need to develop. Though many of these skills are taught at home, it is good to reinforce what you are teaching at home through classroom guidance and small group activities. I am also available to help students who are facing difficulties such as death, divorce or other family disruptions. Please feel free to let me know if your child needs special encouragement or help dealing with problems. When your child accomplishes something good, even outside of school- in sports, at church, or in the community please let me know so I can recognize the achievement. At Austin Peay Elementary our students are bursting with potential. When school personnel and parents work together, we have a winning combination.
