Introduction

In this webquest activity you will be traveling through the rock cycle and experiencing the processes involved in the evolution of sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. After completing the research by accessing the links listed and answering the questions on the worksheet, you will be ready to complete the task.

Task

This WebQuest is divided into three sections covering the 3 processes of the rock cycle.

The links will bring you to an outside Web site that will provide you with information on the topic. Read the Web page to find the answer to the questions on your worksheet.

In addition to completing the WebQuest worksheet you will be required to write a fictional story from a rock’s perspective giving factual accounts of your experience traveling through the three stages of the rock cycle. All the words listed in the word bank are required for your story.
