Over the next couple of weeks, we will be doing lessons in geometry. We will learn about plane figures, solid figures, symmetry, and congruency. We will also be learning about sides and corners. Students will: Identify solid figures, sort and classify solid figures by properties, identify plane figures, identify sides and corners of plane figures and count how many, identify and construct similar and congruent figures, identify and draw lines of symmetry, and identify and draw more than one line of symmetry. This geometry unit meets Nebraska Math State Standards 4.4.1-By the end of fourth grade, students will identify, describe, and create two- and three-dimensional geometric shapes; 4.4.3-By the end of fourth grade, students will identify, analyze and compare two dimensional geometric figures using congruence, symmetry, similarity, and simple transformations. |
