"We Love Reading!" |

My reading class will focus on fluency, decoding, and reading comprehension. We will be working with the District textbook Scott Foresman. We will read stories 2-3 days a week focusing on a different skill such as author's purpose, cause/effect, main idea, etc. The other 2 days we will read a novel called The B.F.G. by Raold Dahl while still focusing on the specific skill of the week. What can you do to support me? Have your child read at least 30-60 minutes each day. Vary it up by taking turns reading and having your child read silently and out loud. The skill this week is cause and effect. There will be another vocabulary quiz in a week or so. Students have the study guide in their reading folders. |
