Poetry Anthology Reflection
  Instructions

At the beginning of the poetry unit you were asked to write a one-paragraph piece with your thoughts on poetry. This is called a reflection, because you are reflecting on your experiences, thoughts or feelings about a subject.

As part of the requirements for the poetry anthology project you need to write two additional reflections to complete this project. The first reflection needs to be a companion, or partner piece, to the first paragraph you wrote. In the first reflection you will think about the entire unit-all the poems we read, studied, watched and wrote. Then you need to describe the following in 4-5 paragraphs.
1. If your thoughts about poetry changed over the course of the unit. You must explain how they have changed or why they did not change at all.
2. You will need to describe what the hardest part of the poetry anthology project was and why.
3. You will need to explain what the easiest part of the poetry unit was and why.
4. Your thoughts about writing the "3-word" poem and the video project that went with it.
5. Describe how you feel when you look back and read all the poetry you wrote. What was your most personal piece? The hardest to write? The one that you can’t believe you actually wrote?

The second reflection piece you will need to write will be directly about the poem you were supposed to find on your own. This reflection needs to be three paragraphs minimum. In this reflection you will need to include the following:
1. A summary of the poem and its overall meaning. That is, what does the poem mean, what is the author trying to say by writing this poem?
2. What this poem means to you. Why did you pick this poem to include and how does it relate to your life either in the past, present or future.
3. You MUST include the title of the poem, the author's name and the source you found it at or in.
