Our Distant Past

Prehistory is the long period between the origins of the first humans and the invention of the writing.
The knowledge we have of this period is based on archaeological, human and animals remains, tools paintings and pottery.
We divide this long period of time in two groups:

Stone Age: ( Paleolithic, Old Stone Age and Neolithic, Late Stone Age)

Age of Metals: ( Copper, Bronze and Iron)

The first humans were nomads, they lived in caves and they moved looking for food: they hunted, caught fish and gathered fruit. They made and used weapons and tools of stone. They discovered the fire and made paintings on cave walls. They made clothes with the skin of animals.
Over time, they began to settle in villages, grow crops, domesticate animals, polish stone for tools and made pottery too.
By the end of the Prehistoric period, they discovered how to use metals and made tools and weapons first with copper, later with bronze and finally with iron. They invented the wheel, which improved the transport of people and objects.. They began to built megalithic monuments as a burials with huge stones.
