Assignment: You will select a different microorganism (that causes food poisoning) to research and produce an Old West style "Wanted” Poster. Informational Requirements: The posters should be on 8.5" x 11" paper and should include ALL of the following: 1. Picture of the bacteria you chose. This is your "criminal's" mug-shot. 2. Name of the bacteria. (You may make them humorous as long as they include the scientific name). 3. Description of the bacteria (including shape). 4. Organism's m.o. - how you get sick from it/mode of transmission 5. Victims - who is generally affected 6. Hide-out - where the bacteria can be found 7. How do they injure the victim - symptoms 8. Number of victims affected - statistic on people affected/year 9. Most effective weapons against the bacteria - what is used to fight the bacteria 10. Other identifying characteristics. Grading: Fulfillment of requirements: 50 points Creativity: 50 points Utilization of time in class: 30 points (15 a day) Due Dates & Additional Information: You will have two days in class to complete this project. It does not take longer than that. Email at klockwood@spfk12.org to be printed out in color. This is due on Monday, May 18th. You may use staining and burning techniques. We can do this in class on Monday. |
