Who is the woman many people call "Mother of the Civil Rights Movement"? Her name is Rosa Parks. She was an African American woman who refused to give up her seat on the Montgomery bus on December 1, 1955. Rosa Parks was arrested and this led to the Montgomery bus boycott and desegregation of public transportation.
