One-Bowl Chocolate Cake 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. sugar ½ c. unsweetened cocoa powder ½ t. b.s. 1/4 t. b.p. 1/4 t. salt 3/4 c. milk 1/3 c. cooking oil 1t. vanilla 1 egg 1. Preheat oven to 350° F. 2. Grease and lightly flour a 9-inch round or 8x8 inch square baking pan; set aside. 3. In a large mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients. Add milk, oil and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed just until combined. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Add egg and beat 2 minutes more. Pour batter into prepared pan. 4. Bake in a 350° F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden tooth pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool cake on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool throughly on a wire rack. PREP: 20 minutes BAKE: 30 minutes OVEN TEMP: 350° F COOL: 1 hour MAKES: 8 servings |
