Students have vocabulary homework Monday night - Thursday night each week in the Vocabulary Workshop book (reddish orange paperback). Each unit takes 2 weeks to complete. You DO NOT have to write the sentences on ANY section.
Leave this homework in your binder. Do NOT take it out, or you might lose it.
PLEASE LABEL EACH ASSIGNMENT WITH THE DATE AND TITLE, i.e. Choosing the right word 8/22. You may put more than one assignment on each page.
For each unit, please do the following:
Week ONE -
On first Monday – Fill in the blanks for the definitions on worksheet.
On first Tuesday – Fill in the blanks for the parts of speech on worksheet.
On first Wednesday – "Synonyms/Antonyms" section
On first Thursday – Use fill in the blanks homework sheet to do Vocabulary Pre-test ("Completing the Sentences") IN CLASS for a quiz grade. Watch agenda for possible grammar homework.
First Friday - rest
Week TWO -
On second Monday – “Choosing the Right Word” section
On second Tuesday – “Vocabulary in Context” section (write letters only)
On second Wednesday – study definitions & spelling
On second Thursday – study definitions & spelling
Second Friday - Test and homework due. Make sure you keep up with it!
