Anne Frank Project

10 million innocent people were killed during the holocaust, all due to the fact that hate is destructive. Your final project for The Diary of Anne Frank involves taking a closer look at the hate that exists in your life, making a pledge to abolish hate either internally or externally, and determine a way to accomplish this task.

You have been handed a biography on a child that suffered from the holocaust. Your task is to write a letter to this child. In this letter, you must include the following:
• What you have learned about the holocaust (get specific and detailed)
• Discuss a hatred you have seen personally or one that you have within yourself (maybe you have both?)
• Closely examine the reasons for this hatred
• Pledge to remove this hate from yourself or protect others from it. Include a specific plan on how you will do this and what will become of you if you do get rid of the hate.
• Take the beginning steps on your plan and reflect on the results.

The project will be graded using the six traits rubric, therefore it must have voice, complex and simple sentences, fluency, structure, be grammatically correct, and cover all areas in the requirements. Remember, a thesaurus is your friend!

As it is a final project, it must be long enough to be detailed as well as insightful. A MINIMUM length of sentences that will enable you to meet this goal is 34 well-developed sentences. Remember that it must also include logical paragraph divisions as well as be in a letter format.
